Fast Compo - Tooll

We are really happy to announce our special fast competition.

Pixtur/Still will release the first beta-version of tooll.io at framefields "how to make a demo" workshop at Deadline-Demoscene-Party in Berlin on Saturday, October 4th.

You don't have to be a hardcore coder to participate - everybody is welcome! Pixtur will cover the basics and slowly progress to building scenes, keyframe animation, shader programming, and post-processing. If you have some experience with Processing, movie editing, After Effects or 3D-programs, you'll be fine.

After the workshop you can compete in a four-hour fast competition. We will give you a small theme to explore in 75 seconds or less. We'll provide you with a selection of small soundtracks you can choose from, or you can bring your own track. (The main compo rules apply: only original, non-commercial, self-made material is allowed.)

All submitted entries will be shown on the big-screen and the winner will get a small prize.

Requirements

You will need a modern notebook or desktop-PC that...

*runs Windows 7 or 8 (emulations/virtual machines will not do)

*has 1GB of disk space free

* has a modern graphics card that supports DirectX 11 (If you can run this, things are probably okay.)

*Since we will not have Faceb^H^H^H internet at the venue, make sure you come with the following things installed:

*latest GPU drivers

*latest version of .net 4.5 windows drivers

*You will also need headphones and a mouse.

If you'd like to participate, please send pixtur a message.
